Verona Hills Events:
The Verona Hills Homes Association hosts several neighborhood events for our residents throughout the year. You can find us on Facebook for past and current news. Please contact a Board member if you are interesting in getting involved or would like to volunteer.
On March 2, 2024, we hosted a "Meet & Greet" from 5-8 p.m. at RC's Back Door Bar. It is located in Martin City at 330 E. 135th Street; KCMO 64145. Thanks to everyone who joined us to hang out with our neighbors and meet some new ones! We had an appetizer buffet and drink tickets for Verona Hills residents. Please note: This was an adults only event.
On March 23, 2024, we hosted our annual Easter Egg Hunt at Migliazzo Park. It was attended by over 200 Verona Hills’ residents. Children and grandchildren (ages 10 and under) had a chance to meet the Easter Bunny and hunt for hundreds of colorful Easter eggs filled with candy and prizes. All residents were invited to stop by for refreshments and donuts and participate in giveaways, regardless if you have a child in the “hunt”. If you missed it this time, we hope you'll stop by next year. You don’t want to miss this 15 minutes of the fastest action you’ll ever see in the park!
On June 8, 2024, we will organize another Dumpster Day at Migliazzo Park. Bring your bulky trash items to one of several dumpsters that will be available for residents from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. or until full. Not allowed are yard waste, appliances, paint cans, tires, batteries, or anything that contains hazardous substances. Volunteers are needed to assist elderly neighbors and others who are unable to get their trash into the dumpsters.
On June 29, 2024, we will host another fun Bike Parade at Migliazzo Park to kick off Fourth of July celebrations! The kids are welcome to decorate their bikes and wagons in patriotic colors. Starting at 10 a.m., they ride around the park path at least twice and then enjoy summer treats!
Verona Hills also typically sponsors an annual Garage Sale usually set for late summer or early fall by providing signage and banners throughout the neighborhood, allowing residents a chance to de-clutter and pick up a little cash. As a service to our community, the Verona Hills Homes Association periodically coordinates a Service Day in the fall with activities including trimming trees and brush, collecting trash and bulky items and staffing a collection site for some recycling items. This is a great opportunity to volunteer and get involved.
On October 14, 2023, residents enjoyed a relaxed evening at Migliazzo Park for our neighborhood Fall Festival. We provided the food, entertainment and activities for the kids including face painters, a video game bus, bounce houses and more. What a way to celebrate the start of the fall season!
One December 4, 2023, the Annual Meeting of the Verona Hills Homes Association will be held at Avila University's Whitfield Center starting at 6:30 p.m. for social time. This event is held once a year at a local facility with complimentary snacks and drinks along with guest speakers. This is a great time to join your neighbors and board members to share our vision and commitment for Verona Hills. Residents typically receive a post card and email to notify them about this gathering.

August (Rescheduled TBD) - Join us for an evening of fun and entertainment during our Annual Movie Night at Migliazzo Park. We will pop popcorn and have refreshments, set up a projector and inflatable screen. Bring the kids out to play and then we will play a popular family movie once the sun goes down. Exact show time and movie title will be communicated at a later date. A great last “hurrah” before it’s back to school!
September - Get ready for the annual Verona Hills Garage Sale! Clean out the garage and make a few bucks in the process. The sale will take place on a Friday through Saturday. Signs may be picked up the week of the sale. There is typically a donation truck on Saturday afternoon at Migliazzo Park for unsold items that could benefit the less fortunate. Be prepared to help load the items, especially the heavier ones. The sale will be advertised to maximize exposure.
October - Enjoy the changing seasons with some family fun at the Annual Fall Festival at Migliazzo Park. We will have burgers and hot dogs, snacks and refreshments, a bounce house, games for the kiddos and live music. For new neighbors and those who have never attended, it is a great time to enjoy the beautiful fall weather and get to know some of your neighbors.
November/December (TBD) - If not held virtually, a nearby location will host VH for our Annual Meeting. Attendees receive an overview of the financial standing of the Homes Association, as well as updates on topics that affect our neighborhood. Stay tuned for further details on speakers and agenda items.
